Clinical 3
Today was our 3rd clinical and I feel like I learned a lot. I am so thankful that Ashley was my partner today, she is awesome with the patients and jumps right into whatever situation is at hand! This was a fun week all around. Wednesday's nutrition projects turned out great and the food was wonderful! I wish I was feeling a little better though (I think I have a sinus infection). I have to work tomorrow and then hopefully can get lots of rest!

Drug Math & Clinical Day 2
I definitely have some learning to do when it comes to drug math. It is a little stressful for me with all the conversions. I am excited for Clinical day 2 though. I am hoping for a better experience this week! Work is picking up also so my time is becoming stretched a little thin. That's all to report this week!

Midterm Over
So excited that we are half way through the first half of the semester! :) While of course I would have loved to make an A on the midterm, I am happy with the B. This just leaves more room for improvement.
Lab today was fun! We did bed baths and changed the beds. It was weird having someone brush my teeth, and my uncontrollable laughing made it a little difficult. I want to say thanks to Gary and Greg for letting us shave their faces! It was quite an experience. Unfortunately I got a migraine towards the end of class and it really put a damper on things. I hate migraines and I know anyone that suffers from them can empathize with me!

Week 3- Clinical Week 1
I can't believe our first clinical is on Friday! I am very excited, nervous, anxious, and everything else! I think it is going to be a wonderful experience and I am really looking forward to it. Today was the first quiz and I didn't do as well as I would have liked. I now know what to expect and plan just have to keep moving forward and do better next time. I also have Poison Oak! This is my first experience with this mess and hopefully my last!
I am excited to log on tomorrow night and see what everyone has to say about their Clinical experience!

Week Two
So far, so good! With week two under my belt I am more excited than ever! We had lab today and took each others Vital Signs, I love working hands on! I feel like I have a great lab group and everyone is very supportive of each other. One of our lab member's has a heart murmur and she allowed each of us to listen. I am very excited to get to week three and begin working with actual patients.

Philosophy of Nursing
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a nurse is a licensed health-care professional who is skilled in promoting and maintaining health. To me, nursing is so much more than that. Nursing is a dedication to improving the health and lifestyle of patients and their families. It is the positive impact that is left on each person you touch. It is my passion for helping others that has lead me to choose a career in Nursing.
For most of my life I wanted to be a doctor. I have always had an interest in the medical field and all through high school I was planning on attending medical school. When I began college, my focus shifted and I chose another career path. For the last five years I have been working in the Hospitality field in private events. While I enjoy that field of work, my true passion for medicine leaves me yearning for more. In 2009 I decided Nursing was the path for me. After completing my prerequisites, here I am a Student Nurse at Tallahassee Community College.
As of right now, I believe I would like to work in Pediatrics. I have always loved working with children in every aspect. Their innocence and inabilities to care for themselves calls to me to assist. I am very excited, however, to explore the different areas of nursing and what they have to offer.
